Alderley Edge
The village lies 12 miles south of Manchester and is situated at
the base of the Edge; a steep and wooded sandstone ridge,
overlooking the Cheshire Plain. Panoramic views from here extend
across Cheshire and the Peak District. Alderley Edge is known for
its perceived affluence and celebrity residents. The village
contains many historic buildings including the oldest surviving
manor house in Cheshire, Chorley Old Hall.
