Nantwich
On the banks of the River Weaver, Nantwich is one of Cheshire's
most picturesque market towns, rich in “black and white”
timber-framed buildings, two important examples are Churche’s
Mansion and the Crown Hotel. The 14th century parish church at the
town centre, St Mary’s Church, cruciform with octagonal tower and
vaulted interior, is one of the three great salt churches, and
probably the most beautiful parish church in Cheshire, often being
referred to as the ‘Cathedral of South Cheshire’.
